Simplified FaceSetup

Bake complex face deformation layers down for easier game-engine export.

This function is for making “Export to game engine” more easy.

As most game engines are unable to work with complex deformers and deformation layers, this function will bake all the deformers down to one skinCluster + one BlendShape, which can then be exported to the game engine.

Export settings

For the Game Engine Export, select the “Geometry” group + the “DeformationSystem” group, then choose “Export Selection” and use the FBX file format.

In the export options, turn on “bake animation” and “Skins” and “BlendShapes” options.

Select Geometry and DeformationSystem, then export selection as FBX with bake animation, skins, and blend shapes enabled.
Tip: Use this before game-engine export when the face rig contains deformation layers or complex deformers.
