Check the model for symmetry and unexpected transform values before rigging.
Use Model Checker before starting the rig setup. It checks whether the model is symmetrical and whether translate, rotate, or scale values have been applied to the selected model.
Select the model, then run the checker to report default transformation values and model symmetry.
A small amount of asymmetry can sometimes still rig, but symmetrical models produce the most predictable result, especially for face setup and mirrored rigging operations.
For best results, resolve symmetry and transform issues before moving on to fitting, building, or face setup.
