Fit Create

Create custom fit joints for additional limbs or flexible shapes that are not covered by the standard templates.

Use Create Joints when a character needs custom limbs such as tentacles, tails, cables, or other shapes that are not already covered by the standard fit-skeleton templates.

Create the joint chain with Maya's joint tool, then use the fit tools to make it part of the AdvancedSkeleton fit skeleton workflow.

Resample joint count

ReSample can change the number of joints in a custom chain. Pick the start joint and end joint, enter the desired joint count, and resample the chain when you need more or fewer joints for smoother deformation.

Use enough joints for the limb to bend smoothly, but avoid unnecessary density. Extra fit joints become more controls and deformation work later.
