Export a non-referenced version of the rig file to avoid nested referencing in animation scenes.
Having the model referenced into the rig is good for managing model changes. However it is not good to reference such rig file into an animation shot, because this will cause “nested referencing”, which can cause some problems.
To avoid this, it is recommended to use the AdvancedSkeleton “Publish” feature, which will export a non-referenced version of your rig file.
Publish exports a non-referenced rig file from the referenced model and work rig.
Recommended file use
It is recommended that you save your rig file as .MA (ascii format).
The published-rig-file will get same name as your work-rig-file but with an .MB extension.
For animation, it is recommended to reference-in the published .MB rig file, and to use the “nameSpace” reference-option.
Tip: Reference the published .MB rig in animation shots to avoid nested references.
